Mat Stars in National TV Teacher Recruitment Campaign

A government backed TV advertising campaign appealing for more people to consider teaching as a career shines the spotlight on Mat Galvin, an Assistant Head Teacher at Firth Park Academy in Sheffield.The Department for Education has launched a national advertising drive - 'Your Future: Their Future' and features some of the country's most inspiring and talented teachers.

Mr Galvin, who is also Head of Science, can be viewed conducting a chemistry experiment in front of captivated Firth Park students and declares that good teachers "make inert bodies react!" He is passionate about working with students in challenging circumstances to give them the very best opportunities in life.

"I'm really excited to be part of 'Your Future: Their Future'. I love my job." says Mat. "and it's great to able to share that passion with others. Teaching offers a real challenge but it's also so rewarding working with young people. Sharing my subject and watching students develop and reach their potential is really fulfilling."
