A stunning photograph of two young children at play has won first prize in a national schools competition.

A group of children at Feversham Primary Academy in Bradford came together as the school's Digital Leaders to become involved in many areas of technology and media. They took a variety of pictures around the school with iPads and selected one they named 'Feversham Friends' which won The National School Photography Awards 2016.

From hundreds of entries judges selected just 35 for their shortlist and Feversham won the Primary School category. The photo (top picture) features two reception children laughing and playing. The Judges Panel, which included top photographers from The Guardian and Times Educational Supplement, said: "This photo captures 'friendship' perfectly! It's a really lovely moment, caught superbly on camera.

The competition is organised by FSE Design in Partnership with camera retailers Jessops and accessory company Manfrotto.. The children were presented with their prizes - a camera, tripod and accessories - at a celebratory school assembly.

Asif Iqbal, Senior Leader at Feversham, added: "The theme was school values and the value our pupils chose to represent us was friendship. The Digital Leaders from Year 4 have a lot of 'tech' responsibilities from being ambassadors to being a support to their peers and teachers. They also helped select the #hashtags that form part of our hashtag wall in our Computing area.

They are the National Winning Leaders now!
