Another AET academy has gained sporting glory and won a prestigious national schools' championship. While Broadlands Under 15s boys were winning the English small schools' football final, a team from Greensward Academy were crowned England's Under 16 girls' basketball winners at the University of East London.

Entering the competition with the phenomenal record of having lost just one game in five years, many of the Greensward players had already experienced national success in 2014 when the academy earned both the Under 15 and Under 16 titles. They have also been Essex County Championship winners for the past five years.

Having overpowered Greig City Academy from north London in this year's semi-final, they then stormed to a 91-47 victory against Reddish Vale High School from Stockport, who were themselves beaten by the victorious Greensward Under 15 winners in the 2014 final.

It was a magnificent team effort although special mention goes to captain Zoe Willis named the 'Most Valuable Player' in the 2015 final scoring a staggering 46 points.
