The Green Way Academy in Hull were very proud to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen's momentous birthday event in a very special way. They spent the day learning about her life, writing her letters of congratulations and designing her a special birthday card.
In the afternoon the whole school had a hugely enjoyable birthday party in the spring sunshine. The Green Way is keeping fingers crossed that they get an acknowledgment from Buckingham Palace as the school did when it sent its congratulations on Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee.
Further down the North Sea coast in Felixstowe children at Langer Primary Academy created a massive birthday card containing self-portraits of every pupil - 167 in total. Two classes visited their local church and between them rang the bells 90 times - one for each year of The Queen's life.
Among their birthday treats for every child was a typical British lunch of sausage, egg and chips followed by pancakes!
