Hazelwood Academy in Swindon has been awarded the Bristol Standard - Quality Improvement for Birth to Five.

The Bristol Standard is a self-evaluation framework which helps Early Years settings, Child-minders and Play settings to develop and improve the quality and effectiveness of their provision through an annual cycle of reflection. The self-evaluation is validated by a panel of Early Years experts before it is awarded the Bristol Standard.

The panel felt that the work carried out by the Hazelwood Academy Early Years team was very impressive, particularly in the areas of behaviour, parental engagement, and the value placed on the local community.

Headteacher, Suzanne Lloyd, commented, “I am delighted that our staff have been recognised for their commitment to continuous improvement”.

Congratulations to the Early Years Team, particularly Miss Belcher, who worked extremely hard on the submission.
