Ryde Academy on the Isle of Wight has won through to the National Final of the 2015 Be Your Best Rock Challenge in Milton Keynes on Monday 6 July after being placed second overall at the Southern Finals at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Their 'Riddle of Riddle' performance portrayed the evil intent of JK Rowling's sinister character Voldemort and captivated both the judges and the audience with their choreography, moody lighting and dramatic costuming.

In their preparations for the Final when whey will be taking on eight other schools from Scotland, the North and South of England, Ryde Academy is looking for financial support towards the cost of travel and accommodation. A dedicated fund raising non-uniform event will be held on Wednesday 1 July. If you are interested in supporting the team please email: contactus@rydeacademy.org

Congratulations also to the Global Rock team from neighbouring Sandown Bay Academy who just missed out on a final place, but did win the Performers' Choice Award, voted by their fellow competitors at the Portsmouth Southern Finals.
