A thriving Milton Keynes primary academy has received two national awards for the rapid progress it is achieving for its pupils.

Charles Warren Academy in Milton Keynes has been recognised for its exceptional performance in tests last year by the Schools, Students and Teachers network (SSAT). The categories , 'Children's Progress - top 10%' and 'Closing the Gap' have been earned as pupils make significantly higher progress in Reading, Writing and Maths than the national average for 10 and 11 year olds, and is among the top 10% across all schools nationally.

Charles Warren has also been particularly successful in ensuring that the achievement obtained by disadvantaged children is at least as good or better than others nationally.

Kate Holland, Principal of Charles Warren Academy, said: "I am delighted with the recognition from SSAT about the progress we have made as a school. The awards highlight the outstanding dedication and pride we have in our school and we are excited for the future knowing our pupils leave us having enjoyed an outstanding start to their learning journey."
