An AET specialist teacher who works with children who have speech, language and communication needs has been presented with a national award at a glittering ceremony in London hosted by comedian David Baddiel.
Cordula Hastings, a teacher at Charles Warren Academy in Milton Keynes, was Highly Commended in the 2015 Shine A Light Awards. This national event sponsored by Pearson, in partnership with The Communication Trust, celebrates inspirational people who excel in the development of young people's communication skills.
Cordula said: "It is an honour and a pleasure to receive this recognition which reflects the close team work and dedication as a school to benefit our wonderful and enthusiastic children."
Event host David Baddiel, added: "Speech and language problems too often go under the radar, so everyone should not only be congratulated for their work but also for bringing this important issue to the attention of others. They are all a true inspiration - keep up the good work."
