Congratulation to all students and staff for very impressive sets of examination results we received in August with special congratulations to New Rickstones Academy which became the most improved school in Essex and in the top five per cent of improved schools in
the country. Whilst the DCSF appear fixated on examination results, and we accordingly must all strive to achieve one of our stated goals ‘every child who can must achieve five A*-C grades with English and Maths’, we also know that a great school provides a full and rounded learning experience for its students. On 2nd October 2009 over four hundred students, staff and parents were privileged to attend the AET Awards evening at the Shaw Theatre, London where we saw our students give remarkable performances and receive awards for outstanding success. My thanks, and that of the AET Board, to all those involved in the pulling together of that event and I am sure we are all looking forward to the Awards evening next year.
