AET Book Trailer Video Conference

The AET Book Trailer Video Conference 2012 began back in May when students and staff of our academies were sent an exciting invitation. It invited Year 8 and 9 students to create a book trailer for a book they had all read. Students were given clear criteria and some examples of book trailers for teenagers – but from that moment on they were on their own….

Once created the book trailers were uploaded onto the AET Learning Platform ready for viewing on the judging day!

On the 19th June, students from the participating 8 academies met each other via the Big Blue Button and began a day of viewing and assessing each other’s videos. The day culminated in the announcing of scores and special commendations…

The results were as follows

The winners with an incredible 150 points were RYA (Ryde Academy) ...
2nd – BHA (Bexleyheath Academy)
3rd – NRA (New Rickstones Academy)
4th – CCA (Clacton Coastal Academy)
5th – MTA (Maltings Academy)
6th – GWA (Greensward Academy)
7th – FXA (Felixstowe Academy)
8th – EPA (East Point Academy)

Special commendations went to MTA for ‘creative use of sound’ and GWA for ‘creative use of camera angles’

Early feedback suggests that students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and ‘can’t wait for the next one!’
