David Hatchett


David Hatchett was appointed to the role of National Director of Secondary Schools in December 2017. For over five years he held a number of senior and executive level roles for a large, national multi-academy trust which improved considerably, including responsibility and accountability for a region of academies covering the 3-18 age range.

He has been a Deputy Director of Education, National Director for Quality Assurance, Interim Principal and a Regional Director of Education. Prior to this, David was Head of Test Development for a number of national and international assessment programmes with Pearson and Edexcel, which included the KS2 and KS3 national curriculum tests and Basic and Key Skills tests programme.

David's experience also includes over eight years of leading and participating in Ofsted inspections, leadership roles in schools and as an examiner. Until recently, he spent 12 years sitting on a sixth college Board, and is a qualified and experienced project and programme manager.
