Chris is currently Head of English at The Rawlett School, An AET Academy. There are 10 members of staff in his team and the department received an 'Outstanding' judgement from Ofsted in November 2013, in all areas. The English team’s progress and attainment were both highlighted, with all of their learners completing AQA English Language and Literature and achieving 82% and 81% A* to C at GCSE level respectively.

Chris has been in teaching for 8 years. He has held a leadership role within his subject area for the past 7 years, across two schools, initially in charge of A2 English, then as Key Stage 3 Co-Ordinator and Second in English, with finally Key Stage 4 Co-Ordinator leading into become Head of Department. The recent Ofsted report noted, 'The head of department brings to his role energy, enterprise, breadth of subject knowledge and a readiness to exploit opportunities.'

Having created links with a number of schools, Chris continually works collaboratively in all areas to help develop effective approaches to teaching and learning.
