Leadership curriculum scholarships introduced

We have introduced a new level of scholarship to support applicants from schools with 101–250 pupils on roll, for the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) and the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL). The half scholarship is now available to new participants registering with licensees and has been introduced to support medium sized schools to engage with the leadership curriculum.

In addition small secondary schools (defined as 500 or less pupils on roll) are also eligible to receive a full scholarship for NPQML and NPQSL.

Licensees can provide further information about the qualifications, costs, registration process and start dates.

Do you know someone who's ready for headship?

The next application round for our National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) programme will open on 12 December 2013.

If you know someone that may be ready in the next 12–18 months ask them to take a look at ourtop tips for applicants and find out more about our scholarship opportunities. They can download the application form and guidance now and start preparing to apply but they must formally register their intention to submit an application for NPQH by applying through the apply link that will be available from 12 December 2013.

Nominate the next generation of school leaders

NCTL, through its commissioned provider The Future Leaders Trust, is seeking to recruit the next cohort of aspiring headteachers to start on the Future Leaders programme in 2014.

Future Leaders is an intensive leadership development programme for aspiring headteachers of challenging schools who believe every child can succeed, regardless of background. We are looking for current and aspiring senior leaders who have the talent and commitment to become headteachers of challenging primary and secondary schools within 2–5 years.

If you believe a member of your senior leadership team has outstanding leadership potential, please nominate them or call 0800 009 4142. Applications are open now.
