As an ever increasing family of schools, and now one of the largest sponsors of academies in England, we are once again thrilled to announce that both our ‘A’ level and GCSE results have shown a marked improvement during this academic year.
For a third successive year AET academies will surpass the improving national GCSE average, with several significant individual academy gains and an encouraging upward trend overall. Provisional figures reveal that across all our academies 85% of students obtained 5+ A*-C GCSEs, a significant increase on last year’s results. Forty eight per cent gained 5+ A*-C passes, inclusive of English and Mathematics; an average increase of over 6%. A very positive improvement on last year and an average increase of 14% compared to their predecessor schools.
AET’s CEO, David Triggs, said: “This is a very pleasing set of results that continues to show that with hard work and commitment all students can achieve results that will enable them to progress and gain further opportunities in work, training or further education. Congratulations to all of them and my thanks to every single member of staff. There is always, of course, room for improvement in future results as we all strive to make our best better,” he added.
Individual success stories include Aylward Academy in Enfield, which has shown a significant 17% improvement 5+ A*- C GCSEs, inclusive of English and Maths, and a record figure of 48%. Its sister academy in Enfield, Nightingale, also posted its best ever results compared to its predecessor school, with an increase of 14% and now stands on 42% 5+ A*-C with English and Maths. Both academies have also shown significant increases in their overall GCSE results.
New Rickstones Academy has increased its overall 5+ A*-C GCSE results by an incredible 35% and now stands on 87%. Richmond Park Academy also increased overall 5+ A*-C from 56% to 80% this year, another superb result for students. Greensward Academy again posted its best ever 5+ A*-C results with English and Maths and now stands at 72%, continuing its outstanding progress.
GSE A Level results also showed improvement on last year with 98% of students gaining A*-E, slightly above the national average and the group as a whole also improved A*-B grades to 46%, up 6% from last year. Greensward Academy showed a marked improvement of 11% on last year’s A*-B result. Nightingale’s 73% and Aylward’s 55% also showed tremendous increases for A*-B grades compared to their predecessor schools, with the latter also gaining 100% pass rate A*-E.
AET now has 14 Academies across East Anglia, Southern England and West London, and co-sponsors three Mayoral Academies in London with the Greater London Authority.
