Kathleen Tucker
Assistant Project Manager

Kathleen is joining the Project Management Team as an Assistant Project Manager with a focus on Public Relations support for potential Academies. Kathleen began her career at Greenwoods Hotel in Stock with a degree in Stage Management where she quickly became Event/Project Manager. Kathleen has a strong event and project management background and has most recently been Editor of two magazines and supported in PR activities. Kathleen is delighted to be joining AET and the Project Management Team.

Kelly Guthrie
CPD Leader
Kelly Guthrie

Kelly has accumulated a range of rich and relevant experiences over a number of years working for secondary schools in socially deprived areas of Essex, with the single focused vision for raising attainment. These experiences have ranged from Head of English, to Head of Mathematics, gaining further knowledge from the positions of Assistant Headteacher and ITT Coordinator along her career path. It is with this background and skillset in Curriculum Development and Initial Teacher Training, that Kelly joins the AET in her new role as CPD Leader.

Kelly’s vision, in line with the AET, is to support, monitor and challenge the systems responsible for ensuring high quality staff development, which are central to raising the overall quality of learning and teaching and thus, student attainment.

As part of the role of CPD leader, she is responsible for providing advice and support to the Academy senior staff (responsible for CPD and PM) in order to develop, design and monitor action planning against the CPD and learning and teaching matrices, as well as with the development and delivery of their own training programmes for all staff at all levels. This includes developing a suite of learning opportunities that academy staff can access to meet their individual professional development needs, including access to higher level qualifications as well as developing a Performance Management training programme. In addition, she is responsible for working with the assigned Academy staff to align the systems used for evaluating the effectiveness of Professional Development and training programmes following completion of each course or programme as well as regularly auditing the impact of continuous professional development on staff and student outcomes.

Kevin Parish
Deputy Director of Human Resources

Kevin joined the AET on 1 October 2012 as Deputy Director of Human Resources having previously worked at Unity City Academy in Middlesbrough as their Human Resources Director for six years.

Kevin has always worked in HR and training roles within the public and private sector and is a Chartered Member of the CIPD with twenty years of associated
experience.

Within his current role he provides HR advisory support to our northern Academies as well as supporting the HR Director from a strategic perspective.

Kim Jackson

Kim is delighted to be joining the AET Central Services as part of the Finance team. Kim has worked as a School Business Manager for the past 17 years and comes with a wealth of financial experience across all phases of education. Kim graduated through the Advanced Diploma of School Business Management programme in 2011.

Leigh Shelley
Director of Human Resources
Leigh Shelley

Leigh has worked for thirty-five years in a number of posts in commerce, industry and education and has a wealth of HR experience. Having seventeen years experience in education Leigh believes she has a full knowledge of what a successful school requires in terms of HR and administrative support.

Leigh has line-managed a large team of Educational Support Staff and understands the need to constantly review processes and procedures to ensure that we are all working with clear goals to the smartest and highest possible standards. She has experience in, and a clear knowledge of HR issues affecting all categories of school staff.

Leigh has been involved in due diligence projects in many schools and as a result of her findings has produced new structures and associated documentary support to ensure that any proposed changes are effective, efficient, sustainable and affordable.

Lisa Marks
Director of Data
Lisa Marks

Lisa has over 12 years’ experience of data management working with schools both through Local Authorities and directly. She has delivered data support to a cluster of 13 primary schools as well as five secondary schools and worked with the DfE on the implementation of ContactPoint. She has also been involved in numerous OFSTED inspections over the years, supporting school teams to use the data available to influence change and evidence progress. As well as working with data, Lisa also applied her skills to become Chair of Governors at a local school to enhance her knowledge and experience of all aspects of education.

In her role as data manager, Lisa is keen to fully engage all AET academies in recognising the use of data as one of the most important tools in school improvement. By supporting challenging and monitoring academies her aim is to inspire trust and confidence in data management and release the potential of the data held - making the educational environment one which is information rich and leading to opportunities for every student to realise their potential.

Lisa Oxenham
PA to Executive Assistant, COO and Executive Team
Lisa Oxenham

Lisa spent the early part of her career working as a PA / Administrator in the City. She has spent more than seven years working in the Education sector in a variety of roles. Lisa joins us from Southend High School for boys where she was the Key Stage 3 Administrator.

Lorna Lafford
English and Literacy Specialist
Lorna Lafford

Lorna Lafford has joined the English and Literacy team on Secondment for a year from her permanent post as Assistant Vice Principal at Clacton Coastal Academy. A former Head of English, Lorna is delighted to be working with the English and Literacy team in their continued drive to raise standards in English and Literacy across the Curriculum.

Luke Bowers
Data Manager
Luke Bowers

Luke joins the AET from Bethnal Green Academy where he worked as a Director of Student Progress/Head of Sixth Form. Luke has significant experience in pastoral leadership and improving standards through effective data management.

Malcolm Reeve
National Director of Education (Special Needs and Disabilities)
Malcolm Reeve

Malcolm Reeve, the AET’s National Director of Education for Special Needs and Disabilities, has worked in the field of SEND for thirty years. In that time he has worked in adult provisions, mainstream schools and special schools. He has worked in with children throughout the age range and with learning difficulties ranging from moderate to profound.

Malcolm has been Headteacher of three schools and one federation. He was Chief Executive of Columbus School and College from its establishment to December 2012, leading it to Outstanding.

Malcolm is a National Leader of Education and Chair of the Federation of Leaders in Special Education.
