Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

David Triggs Chief Executive Officer |
David Triggs, the Chief Executive Officer of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), has thirty-seven years’ experience of working in education and was Principal of Greensward (College) Academy from 1994 until 2008. Following his intervention work he was accredited as one of the first National Leaders of Education in 2006. Between 2005 and 2010 David led the Executive Headteacher training programme for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and he is proud that he was involved in developing over 220 Executive Heads. Whilst David is immensely proud that Greensward College and now Academy has been judged as Outstanding three times in the last 12 years, much of his work since 2000 has been as an Executive Headteacher supporting schools in challenging circumstances. He has worked with 12 schools or academies where he has helped to build the capacity of leaders and governors. He has helped 7 schools or academies out of Special Measures but has also worked with other schools to achieve the highest Ofsted judgments. In 2007 Greensward Academy was invited to lead a national ‘pathfinder’ where an ‘Outstanding’ school and a challenging school could both become academies within a single trust. The Academies Enterprise Trust launched in September 2008 with three academies and is now offering challenge and support to 14 secondary and three primary academies. Interest in the Academies Enterprise Trust, however, is strong amongst a wide range of schools and the AET is forecast to grow to over 30 academies. Under the single aim of “a place in a good school for every child” (Lord Adonis) the AET delighted to welcome special, primary and secondary schools making a truly ‘fully inclusive’ education provider. |
